A witchy, crystal-filled DIY bath potion by EsZorroArt

If you’ve ever wanted to brew your own magical potion… this is your spell.

These exploding cauldron bath bombs erupt in one second, shimmer with purple & green mica, smell like sweet lychee red tea, and hide a raw mystery crystal in the center.

Freshly baked pumpkin pound cake, topped with a rich maple brown butter glaze – the perfect cozy treat for autumn afternoons.

In this tutorial I’ll show you exactly how I made them, including my full recipe, where I bought all my ingredients, and the exact mixing method to get that perfect “fresh snow” texture.

Let’s dive in, witches 🧙‍♀️💜

? Ingredients + Where I Bought Everything

Cauldrons

Mini witch cauldrons (set of 4):€2,65 – AliExpresshttps://a.aliexpress.com/_EvHxus4

Dry Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

Extra

  • Raw crystal chunks (obsidian, fluorite, clear quartz, rose quartz, amethyst etc.)

  • Mixing bowls

  • Gloves

  • Scale

  • Makeup brushes (for brushing glitter & cleaning edges)

  • Shrink wrap (optional but recommended)

🌙 My Exact Method – Step by Step

1. Add all your dry ingredients to a big bowl

In this order (this helps prevent premature activation!):

  1. Baking soda

  2. Citric acid

  3. Cornstarch

  4. SLSA

  5. Epsom salt

  6. Mica powder

  7. Glitter

Mix everything thoroughly.

2. Prepare your wet mixture

In a microwave-safe cup:

  1. Melt the coconut oil.

  2. Add the jojoba oil.

  3. Add polysorbate 80.

  4. Mix well.

Now pour in the 20 g fragrance oil and stir again.

3. Combine wet + dry ingredients

Pour the wet mixture slowly into the dry bowl while mixing constantly.

Then:💜 Use your hands (with gloves!) to break down every lump.💚 Mix until the texture feels like fresh snow. When you squeeze a handful, it should:✔️ Stick together✔️ But still fall apart lightly when pokedThis is the perfect bath bomb texture.

4. Split the mixture for colouring

Divide your mix into two bowls:

  • One bowl gets teal / green mica

  • One bowl gets purple mica

Mix each one fully until the colour is even.

5. Fill the cauldrons

  1. Add a thin bottom layer of bath bomb mix.

  2. Place one raw crystal chunk in the center.

  3. Fill the rest of the cauldron using both colours mixed loosely.

  4. Press everything down firmly until it is packed to the top.

6. Decorate the potion top

Use a clean, dry makeup brush to:

  • Brush off excess powder

  • Apply glitter on the top for that swirling potion effect

This gives the cauldron a magical bubbling surface before activation.

7. Dry for 24–48 hours

Let them harden fully for the strongest explosion effect.

8. Optional: Shrink-wrap the tops

To keep your glitter perfect during shipping or storage:

  • Use heat shrink film only on the top

  • Leave the cauldron visible

  • This locks the glitter in place beautifully
