🌙 DIY Punch Needle Coasters – Step by Step🌙
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with punch needle projects — they’re simple, relaxing, and the end result is just so satisfying. For this tutorial, I used two punch needle coaster kits from Temu. Each set comes with everything you need: wool yarn, printed fabric, punch needle, threader, embroidery hoop, backing fabric, but not with scissors or glue.
It’s a great way to start if you’re new to punch needle because you don’t have to stress about getting the right tools — everything’s included and ready to go!
🛒 Kits used:
💕 Materials
Punch needle set (with printed fabric and yarn)
Embroidery hoop (included in the kit)
Scissors
Fabric glue (I use B-7000 clear adhesive)
Hot glue gun
Backing fabric (included in the kit)
🌿 How to Make Them
Prepare your fabric:
Stretch the printed fabric tightly in the embroidery hoop. This part is super important — the tighter, the better your punch needle will look.
Thread your punch needle:
Use the threader to guide the yarn through the punch needle.
Start punching:
Follow the printed design on the fabric, punch by punch, until the entire design is filled.
Remove from hoop:
Once finished, take your design out of the hoop. Cut the fabric around the edge, leaving about 4 cm of extra fabric all around.
Seal the edges:
Apply fabric glue around the punched area to secure the yarn. Let it dry for about 24 hours.
Trim and fold:
Carefully make small snips in the fabric edge (but don’t cut too close to the yarn!). Fold the edges inward and glue them down using a hot glue gun, making it as neat and tight as possible.
Add the backing:
Finally, glue the backing fabric to the bottom of your coaster for a clean, finished look — and you’re done!
☕ Final Thoughts
Each coaster takes about an hour to make if you go at a chill pace — perfect for a slow crafting afternoon with some tea and music. The making process is super relaxing, but finishing them neatly takes a little more patience (totally worth it though!).

How easy was this craft?
★★★★☆
Super beginner-friendly, but finishing the edges can be a little tricky! 💫
