Freshly baked pumpkin pound cake, topped with a rich maple brown butter glaze – the perfect cozy treat for autumn afternoons.

There’s something incredibly comforting about working with chocolate — the slow melting, the glossy shine, the creative freedom. In this cozy baking session, I created a batch of witchy chocolates inspired by Valentine's Day magic and soft, fairy-like aesthetics.

Ingredients I Used (for 15 strawberries and 4 witches hats)

🍫 WHAT DO YOU NEED – WITCHY CHOCOLATES

✨ Ingredients

  • White chocolate – 250 g

  • Milk chocolate – 200 g

  • Vanilla–chocolate swirl cake – ± 100 g

  • Large strawberries – 15 pcs

  • Edible gold glitter

🖤 Tools & Supplies

  • Silicone chocolate molds(witch hats, ghosts, ouija symbols, mini bars, swirls — use any molds you love)

  • Microwave-safe bowls

  • Spoon or spatula

  • Coffee stir sticks (for fine details)

  • Baking paper

  • Latex or food-safe gloves

  • Fridge

✨ Optional (but nice)

  • Piping bag or small spoon for precise detailing

  • Sharp knife (for trimming chocolate edges)

  • Small plate or tray for setting decorations

✨ Step 1: Making the Chocolate Embeds

I start by creating all my chocolate embeds using white chocolate. For this recipe, I use about 250 grams of white chocolate to make:

  • Ghost shapes

  • Ouija board symbols

  • Mini chocolate bars

  • Witch hat details

  • Decorative swirls

I pour the chocolate into silicone molds and place them in the fridge for 10–15 minutes per round. As soon as they are set, I pop them out immediately — this helps prevent condensation. Moisture and chocolate really don’t mix.

✨ Step 2: Building the Witch Hat Chocolates

Using a coffee stir stick, I add the fine details into the witch hat molds with white chocolate. These go back into the fridge for about 5 minutes so the details can set.

Next, I pour milk chocolate over the molds to create a thin base layer and chill again until firm.

Once set, I crumble about 100 grams of vanilla–chocolate swirl cake. The cake is nice and moist, which makes it perfect for pressing into the molds. After filling the hats, I seal everything with another layer of milk chocolate and chill once more.

When fully hardened, I pop the chocolates out and trim the edges for a clean finish.

🍓 Step 3: Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

I dip 11 strawberries into melted milk chocolate (and 4 in white chocolate) and gently wipe the bottoms along the edge of the bowl before placing them on baking paper to set.

Once hardened, I use a small amount of melted chocolate to attach the white chocolate embeds to the strawberries and let them set completely.

✨ Golden Strawberries

For the golden strawberries, I coat white chocolate–dipped strawberries with edible gold glitter using a latex glove, gently pressing the glitter into the chocolate while it’s still soft but not to soft. The result is a magical, shimmering finish.

🍫 HOW TO MELT CHOCOLATE (MICROWAVE VS AU BAIN-MARIE)

Au bain-marie is the safest and most traditional method, but I often use the microwave because it’s faster and gives me more control — especially for small batches.

Microwave Method (My Preferred Way)

  1. Chop the chocolate into small, even pieces

  2. Microwave at medium power for 20–30 seconds at a time(10 to 20 seconds for white chocolate)

  3. Stir well between each round

  4. Stop microwaving when most of the chocolate is melted — residual heat will finish the job

⚠️ Never overheat chocolate — once it burns or seizes, it can’t be saved.

This method is quick, smooth and less “fussy” than au bain-marie, as long as you’re patient and stir often.

🌙 How easy was this craft?

★★★★★ – Super easy!
